Winslow Town Council / Meetings

The biggest meeting of the year is the Annual Town Meeting. Chaired by the Town Mayor, this meeting is open to the electors of Winslow, at which all electors have a vote and can raise any issue for discussion which is of importance to the area. Held in April, the venue can vary but is publicised in advance.

The Annual Council Meeting in May is held in the Council Chamber at 28 High Street.

The Council also meets on 11 other occasions in the Council Chamber on the first Thursday of the month and occasionally convenes Extraordinary meetings.

The Council's Committees meet independently, as frequently as required by their subject matter.

Details of all meetings are posted on the notice board outside the Council Offices. Minutes from meetings are published.

All meetings of the Town Council and its Committees are open to the public but occasionally the public will be excluded when confidential matters have to be discussed (such as the issue of contracts, staffing matters, etc). A fifteen minute provision is made for the public to speak.
