Vacancies for Town Councillors
Following the uncontested election two casual vacancies have arisen for Town Councillors for Winslow Town Council, Winslow Ward.
Council would like to receive expressions of interest from eligible persons who are interested in becoming a co-opted member. Interested parties should email or write to the Clerk at the above address outlining why they are interested and what they feel they could offer to the community. Expressions of interest should be received by the Clerk no later than 9th May 2025
Requirements of a Town Councillor
No particular experience or expertise are needed to fulfil the role.
- A keen interest in the community, enthusiasm and commitment to "make a difference" locally are the most important attributes.
- You could expect to spend time keeping up to date with issues arising in the town as well as preparing for and attending Council and Committee meetings monthly (it is usual for a Councillor to be on no more than 2 committees). The exact amount of time you commit will depend on the issues that particularly interest you and the time you have available.
- It is not essential to be a resident of Winslow, if your employment is in Winslow, or you live within 3 miles, you may apply.
