Winslow Farmers Market

Winslow Farmers Market

Winslow Farmers Market started in 2009 and has grown to be one of the most successful in our area.  We asked John Knight one the volunteers who helps establish the market what makes the market so special.

‘I think it can be summed up with three ‘P’s’ – the Place, the People and the Produce. In terms of the Place, Winslow Market Square comes into its own when the market is on, it’s a great destination to potter, listen to the live music or have a chat.

The People are important too, as the market is a community activity and entirely run by volunteers. The stallholders, many of whom have been with the market from the beginning, appreciate this and are incredibly supportive.

But the most important thing about the market is the quality of the Produce. We are very careful to ensure that stallholders are as local as they can be and that they are the actual growers and producers of everything they sell. We have real small scale producers and farmers, ranging from locally milled flour for the artisan breads, local honey, jams and chutney. heritage varieties of apple juice, seasonal fruits and vegetables and rare breed meats. Most months will see around 25 stalls.’

Winslow Farmers Market is held on the first Sunday of the month, from 10am to 1.30pm in the Market Square. Visit or follow winslowfarmersmarket on Facebook for more information
