TOWN COUNCILLOR

 

Notice is hereby given in accordance with Section 87 (2) of the Local Government Act, 1972 that, due to the resignation of Cllr D Chandler, a casual vacancy has occurred in the office of Councillor for the Town of Winslow.

If any TEN electors for the ward or parish give notice in writing to the Returning Officer by Friday 25th. October 2019 requesting that an election be held, the vacancy will be filled at a by-election.

The Returning Officer is Andrew Grant and his address, to which such notice should be sent is, Electoral Services, The Gateway, Gatehouse Road, Aylesbury, Bucks HP19 8FF

If no such notice is received, the Town Council will, at their meeting in January 2020 (or as soon as possible thereafter) fill the vacancy by co-option of a suitably qualified person.

  1. Council would be interested to receive expressions of interest from eligible persons who would like to become a co-opted member should no election be called. In order that matters can proceed as quickly as possible any interested parities should write to the Clerk, at the above address outlining why they are interested and what they feel they could offer to the community.  Expressions of interest should be received by the Clerk no later than 2nd. December 2019
